Mine are turning a bronze color. I am out of the 1 year warranty period. Heat is the problem that turns them colors. Put a set of Rines on a factory tuned (read LEAN) and see how quickly they change color. My bike is richer than most, and it took almost a year before they started to be anything but black.

Just so ya know, I have heard that they are swapping out the tips, even if the warranty is out. Just something you might want to check into. Something about them now being made differently.

 

First set of S/Os the right side turned gold in less than 1500 miles. Replacement set (warranty) has almost 15,000 miles and still black as the day I unpacked 'em. Difference was the SERT and dyno. That lean factory tune was just way too hot. 07 CUSE.

 

Just got mine about a month ago and I'm keeping an eye on the color change. Noticed other having this issue. Film at 11.

 

called bub about discolored tips and also rear cylinder heat shield discoloring.they ask for receipe but i did not have one.told the person on the phone they where purchased at eastern performance.bub said no problem call and ask for them to fax bub invoice.they did and my tips and shield are on the way to be replaced.excellent customer service in my book

 

Well, from what I heard about the mufflers is that 80% or so of the exhaust comes out of the right muffler, while the left gets the rest, makin the righttip change color faster than the left. Thats what I heard at my local stealership the other day.But, most of you guys postin have true duals on. So, Im not too sure.

 

I just swapped them around to get the color the same. The color
was no big deal to me.

 

worst case is you can get a can of engine black and repaint them stuff lasts a long time

 

3000km on mine...no purple thing....
