RE: your thoughts on sheep skin seat covers
I like my Sheep skin cover it is great for summer riding no hot seat and help keep down monkey butt by wicking the sweat from your pants.
I got one from a vendor at a rally for $35 and it attaches to the seat by elastic bad with a quick release on both sides of the seat and can be remove quick if it starts raining etc....

I have been using them for years and can't ridewithout one. Alaskaleather.com is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with--have bought 4 pads from them.
I usually get black, but just got a natural one for my new Road Glide. It's all molted, gray, brown, black and looks like it came off a wild animal but sure does a good job. Just returned from a 1,500 mile trip and it was very comfortable. Just about everywhere I stopped, someone was asking me about it and where to get one.
They are worth a least 10 times what they cost in the summer. No sweaty vinyl butt, and no more roasting your nuts off after the bike has been sitting in the sun a while. If they get wet, take it off, slap it against a tree, blot it with a towel and you are good to go.

my dad gave me his on my first sturgis trip (seattle to sturgis). loved it from day 1. it has a slit for the rider backrest, and just throws over the seat. quick and easy. plus on cold nights, doubles as a blanket.
