Need help Vermont Green Serpent
Does anyone know the route numbers of this famous ride? I'd like to do it this weekend. All the info I can find on it is a tour with the Killington Classic. It is supposed to cover four of the best gaps in Vermont, with over 500 turns and its around 120 miles round trip.
Thanks,
Joe

I haven't done that specific ride. The four best gap rides from south to north are Middlebury Gap (Route 125), Lincoln Gap (Lincoln Gap Road between Bristol and Warren), Appalachian Gap (Route 17) and Smugglers' Notch (Route 108). They intersect Route 100 on the east end of each route. I like Lincoln Gap the best and Smugglers' Notch is unique with the road winding around boulders near the top. A good spot for lunch is the Long Trail Brewery just west of the intersection of Route 100A and Route 4.

Vermont Green Serpent
The Vermont Green Serpent is a name made up by the organizers of the Killington Classic (Americade). I have lived in the area my entire life and never heard it called that until their advertising this year. If you add Brandon Gap (Route 73) to the routes Woodchuck listed you will have ridden the "Green Serpent".

A semi filled with sand and headed for Stowe got hung up near the top of Smugglers' Notch closing the road for quite a while. A couple of the trailer axles were destroyed as he tried to mash his way over/through boulders. The truck had to be unloaded before attempting to free it. They showed workers cutting off one of the axles on local news. No way a semi is going to get through there. Yes, it's clearly posted at both ends.
