Default Hard Saddlebags for 2012 RKC

Wanting to replace my leather saddlebags on my RKC. Just got back from the dealer and they want $1500 for a set of two tone midnight pearl/brilliant silver pearl saddlebags for a 2012 Limited. He said they won't provide a paint scheme unless it was offered by the factory. That doesn't include locks. That seems really expensive to me compared to what it looks some of you have been able to get through the dealer. I went ahead and posted in the classified thinking I might luck out on a set of used ones, but doesn't seem likely. I could do an after market brand assuming I could order a set of Harley locks that would fit but not sure it would be much cost savings once I had them painted. Any thoughts/advice?

Yeah, haven't had much luck with ebay so far, but I'll keep looking. Thanks.

What about one of the on line dealers, Surdyke or others? Should be able to get 20% off- just sayin and they would be color matched to boot.

Get the actual part number of the bags you want. Go to Kutter or New Castle site, you'll get 20 percent off. I ordered vivid black Street Glide saddlebags from New Castle HD on-line for $840.00 or so. These were brand new HD bags. I got the locks keyed to match my ignition using my VIN. I did this locally since it's not a huge expense and it was easier. I think the locks were maybe $40.00. I can't believe a two tone paint job would almost double the price of vivid black. Get the part number and shop around.

Great suggestion. I didn't really know about the online dealers nor the discount so I'll give it a shot. Thanks a lot, guys.
