Yes that gap on the left side is supposed to be there. If you reference the service manual "best money spent on your Harley" it has to do with the alignment of everything up there.

When I found the rotors on my '05 RKC mounted backwards, I was concerned, then I read a technical bulletin that the rotors were purposely mounted in reverse from the factory because the manufacturer accidentally stamped the arrow the wrong way on them. Maybe Google it.

the rear tire sees highest forces on acceleration- the tail of the wrap is opposite direction as rotation

a tire casing coming apart could be pretty interesting when you only have 2

This - dealer should replace for free. My buddy had same thing happened, discovered after 3k miles and dealer put a new tire on for $0

There was a recall on front 09 tires due to arrow reversed (I guess) and the rotation was in reverse to the intended construction

Thanks to all who have replied. I'm pretty sure it is the tire I had put on it when I bought it so will go back to the purchased from dealer. I bought it 08 or 09 so maybe I have one of the mismarked tires?

I do have the FSM so looked at the spacers after I got off the computer last night and saw that it was correct.

my bike does not have any gaps in the spacers. this looks like the front wheel could float back and forth. the service manual states to squeeze the lower legs together before tightening the pinch bolts. this looks like the front wheel is loose on the axle. could be a wheel bearing is going bad.
