Default Glad I have my sportster, Lady hit my RKC in parking lot.

Thursday Night I go out to dinner with some co-worker's , sitting on the patio I watch a chick on a cell phone back up to leave and backs into my bike. She gets out and says I didn't see it. The bike didn't fall over but slid back a good five inches, was in 1st gear.
It messed up my front fender and fork.
She also didn't want to share information and called the police, which is good for me , better then just exchanging information.
I imagine the bike will be down waiting on the insurance companies and parts.
I say Ban cellphones , LOL
On the sportster now.

I agree 100%.

She didn't see you because she probably didn't turn her head to even look. It's amazing that some people can even get a drivers license. Worked an accident the other day IN the DMV parking lot. Girl just PASSED her driving test and got her license. As she was leaving she ran into another car.

No one should be allowed to use a cell phone in the car until they have driven a proven 100,000 miles and 3 years.

All cell phones should come with a feature that when moving over 5 miles an hour the in hands calling is disconnected, cannot receive or send text messages, in coming calls are blocked with a message stating the person is driving and a person can only call 911 when under motion. GPS can work, and you can start playing music but you can't change songs etc while under way.

There have been too many lives lost and money spent because of these cell phones. I have grown to dislike them very much.

I am glad you were not on the bike and she had insurance.

That sucks, especially when I saw your bike! Luckily it was "just a bike" (no offense) and not a little kid walking to his car w/ his mom.

With all the crap out there that can take us out, and I mean as people not just as bikers, I've always been hyper-vigilant in parking lots. It's like the wild west; no laws really apply and dip-sheets like this girl on her cell & backing up, is a perfect example. Sadly your story doesn't surprise me. Hope your King recovers 100%.

At least you weren't on the bike when she hit it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your ride.

BTW I agree with she didn't see it because she didn't look.

I really miss riding it , Love the sportster ,but can't take the place of the comfort, hopefully they can get it back in shape. Now maybe the time to make a few changes , change bars and do chrome lowers.

We should probably have the Government randomly search our houses for anything illegal too.. can't be too safe!

I wonder how many women would commit suicide if they stopped making cellphones? Seems like they can't keep their yaps shut for 1 minute!

Up here in Ontario, Canada it's a $280 ticket if your seen holding a cell phone. Has to be a 'hands free device' only ie: bluetooth. They can also give you the same ticket for playing with a window mount GPS, eating, etc. The offence is called 'distracted driving'. Distracted driving up here is now causing more accidents than impaired driving (your DUI). A very close female friend of mine was a passenger on her boyfriends bike on her 55'th birthday when she was killed. Teenager on a cellphone in her parent's car pulled out of a side street right in front of them. He flew 100 feet and broke both legs. She flew 40 feet and broke her neck.
