I ride with my Reckless Fairing in the winter, but back to the windshield when it gets warm.
Sure is nice checking out that nice nacelle.
Enjoy riding without the windshield every now and then, but got to be selective about when. The LED lights are big bug magnets - and I mean THE BIG BUGS. I got popped right between the eyes by something the size of a hornet recently. Really surprised it didn't bust the bridge of my sunglasses!

 

You don't ride to work at 5:00 in the morning (through the woods,) wearing only a half helmet without one!

 

Maybe should have clarified a bit. Was riding in town with a half helmet and goggles. Shield is back on when cruisin' the slab, but it's all good. Love the versatility...

 

Usually I ride w/o the shield, think it looks a little funny w/ the apes. If I'm making the long trip to Myrtle Beach the shield goes on.

 

Ditto that of what -censored- said. Just moved to Co. from Mi. Don't know the bug situation yet.

 

What size are those apes?? 18"? 20"? They look sweet.....

For me it's more about speed than distance. 100 miles on the freeway 75mph - I want the shield. If I'm not going over 60-65 - I don't mind riding 250+ miles w/o the shield....

 

Like the look of no shield. But function wins out over fashion.

 

I've had my King for 3 years now, & have only used the WS when I go to Daytona.
