Your experience with stock Electraglide seat
#23
MY experience with a stock touring seat is VERY limited.
They come off FAST, and replaced with something I can tour on.
This time it's a Corbin, feels hard when you first sit on it, but it has support across my whole ***, and is very comfy. I can ride it as long as I wish with ZERO issues.
The Alaska Leather mentioned above may help, but on the Corbin, it is even better.

Stock EGlide seat is extremely comfortable,no way I'd change to anything else,Wife loves it as much as I do,she's done 750 mile days riding shotgun.
If I ever tear the vinyl material I'll consider recovering my stock seat in leather just to do it,I ride past one of the best in the business's shop all the time http://www.alligatorbob.com

After a dozen years with a softail I bought a bagger last year. I just finished another road trip (about 2000 miles) and occasionally found I was wanting a better seat. At times I felt like I was straddling a four or five inch rail with all the pressure on my crotch and no support for the wider parts of my ***.
I know a lot of riders don't like the stock seat and have switched out to an aftermarket saddle. What I'd like to know is what it was that you didn't like about your stock seat. Was your experience similar to mine?

The stock seat on our 2010 FLHTCU started bugging my hip at about 70 miles and then both cheeks were on fire by 80. It was fidgit city from there on. My GF says the passenger seat is perfect for her.
We tested a Sundowner but I have sat on cinder blocks that were softer. I had Mean City do their mod on it and it seems to have done the trick (my stock seat is the earlier seat on the 2010 and is apparently known for this). I haven't done the 300-400 mile day yet but the 80-90 mile trips are not issues.
Great folks at Mean City -- best $160 I have spent recently.
