Default Hammock rider seat vs rider/passenger???

I went to the dealer to demo a hammock seat. They only had a rider/passenger version. First thing I noticed was that the sides of the passenger seat were not sitting properly between the sissy bar uprights, it was too wide. The seat felt comfortable to sit on. While riding I noticed I had the feeling I was sliding back under acceleration but it felt very cushy.
They did not have the rider version and could not tell me what the difference between the two is.
Does anyone have hands on experience on what the difference is between these two seats?

Default Hammock seats

I have tried both seats, with my adjustable rider back rest.

Seat 51000003, hammock for both rider and passenger, has a slightly different fabric design on the nose of the seat. It also seemed to sit me up and forward a bit compared to seat 53051-09. Seat 53051-09 was the first one i tried and it felt the most comfortable. It seemed to be a little shallower in the bucket portion, which I prefer. Also, after a bit of use, I have seen that seat 53051-09 wrinkles a bit at the bend in the nose, right where the different fabric design change is on seat 51000003. I suspect that was the reason for the different design on the nose.

Overall, the back rest was not an issue with either.

I like the look of seat 51000003 over seat 53051-09. JMO.

At the end of the day I did not buy either. Just not enough difference from my stock FLHT seat, which is different from a FLHTC or FLHTCU seat.

High milage days do not bother me in the stock seat.

Good luck and just my opinion.

I've had both. I agree with the above post. The rider only seat seems a bit lower and about an inch back from the tank. Its way more comfortable than the dual hammock seat. I think its a step above the stock seat. I used to love my Corbin dual tour but lately its been hurting my butt on longer rides. I may switch back to the Hammock for a while and try it. I've read using a circulator seat pad with the hammock is a great combination.

Try a zeppelin, most comfy seat I've had thus far!

The rider/passenger Hammock version provides more legroom for rider than does the stock seat; the rider Hammock version provides just a bit more room than the rider/passenger. Both are considerable improvements over stock, if you're taller. Dealers often have demo seats to loan. That's what I did. Had decided on the rider Hammock, but happened upon a screaming deal on a rider/passenger Hammock on Craigslist, so I bought it. Big improvement, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm 6-0 with a 32 inch inseam.

I bought a CVO heated hammock seat on Ebay $384 including shipping. It took a little getting used to but now it is GREAT. The position for me is better than a stock seat on my 2014 limited. Very comfy and the heat will be a bonus in cold weather riding.
