Sea Foam use
#2
I've used it as a fuel additive and spraying directly into the intake. I don't notice anything either time. I had heard spraying into the intake while it's running, you'll see this cloud of black smoke from it burning off the crap in there, but all I saw was a cloud of white seafoam smoke. And, no improvements. Maybe that does happen in a dirty engine, but not on mine.

I think this is really bad advice to put it directly into the cylinders. Especially a half of a can, really?

well...I tried seafoam in my blazer before heading in for smog and failed miserably.
High unburned hydrocarbons- about 1200 PPM, standard for the old truck is 500 PPM
post failure I spoke with seafoam who advised i run a couple of tanks of gas through the tank. They said that the seafoam ( about a 1/2 bottle in a 28 gallon tank) could cause lean misfire resulting in the high HC if the seafoam is present at time of testing
a few tanks of gas & I re-tested at about 380 PPM- which is within 10% of historical testing over the past 15 years or so
I won't bother using it again.
Fuel additives to clean the system are EPA mandated- in my vehicles ( young / old, efi/ carbed) I run mostly costco. who claim 5X mandated cleaners.
When replacing fuel pump on my 2001 gmc last year ( 160,000) the fuel tank was completely clear of any deposits dirt dust junk etc- i attribute that to the source of the fuel
