Like a lot of the Harley community. I need more lights at night to see where Im going. Sadly, Im not looking to spend $600-$700 or more. I did do the brighter bulbs in the headlights, that helped a little, but if I dont have my brights on, then Im not seeing Shi#.
There has to be someone out there that has come with an easy, and better solution for their Older Road Glide.
Have you ever tried adjusting the headlights? When I bought my 2011 I felt the same way. Seemed like all I could see was about 30 feet in front of me on low beam. Finally cranked the adjuster and rised them up. I just kept making small adjustments one evening until I felt the low beam range was normal and stopped. Been there ever since and never get flashed by oncoming traffic.
I put the driving lights on my RG in addition to the HIDs. When one of the bulbs burned out I replaced it with a brighter Xenon bulb. The additional heat made the reflector material come off the back of the light.

Im reviving my last summer thread.....
This quote (above) brings up a good point, is there any issue with over heating the lens or light surround.....
Im seriously thinking about trying some HID this season. I thin the best white light is the 6000k. but a couple of the vendors offer a 35w or 50w bulb, Is the 50w too hot....any suggestions.
The HIDs draw quite a bit of current to get the going, but once up to temperature the current draw drops off. Ya don't want these trying to fire up while you are starting your bike. Switch to the filament bulb, i.e. high beam for start up. I think the stock lamps are 55 watts so it shouldn't be a problem for the main headlamps. Just the driving lights can have trouble with to hot of a bulb.
