My wife's 2014 RK has 24,000 on it and the tire still has lots left. We replaced the rear at about 15,000. I could see her getting 35+ on the front tire easily. But, it's hard to tell because tires are like toilet paper rolls. The closer you get to the end, the faster you run out.....

How many pairs of shoes have you guys worn out stopping your bikes?

Well, the wife wears boots, so I am guessing you mean pads since shoes are from the drum brakes. I changed her rears about 5K ago and her fronts will be done this weekend. I don't think brake use has as much to do with tire wear as some so.

Only time a front tire lasted me close 30K was 05 UC but since then never got more 20K. It totally depends on how the bike is ridden friend of mine always easy on his vehicles and rarely has any issue with his UC even after putting over 100K miles on it.

I change my rear tire 3 times to the front tire -- puts the front with about 45,000 on it -- the tires were Elites 3

my other bike lasted 17,000 on the rear -- the front is still good

I agree. What does braking have to do with tread wear?
I'm I missing something?

I always contributed proper air pressure to tread wear. Under inflated tires will wear quicker.

Just changed both my tires at 20K. I think I could have made it to 25K on the rear and the front would have easily made but I chickened out and replaced them.
