Looks cool, I have spent $20 on lunch before so I think that would be a good investment.
Has anyone actually used this one? Hope it works better than the HD one which keeps some oil off the engine but not all of it.

I went ahead and decided to just purchase the funnel, its just $20 also I purchased this filter, which has been my 3rd filter being used on most of my previous Harleys.. For $112 I am pretty much set with oil filter and funnel. Filter is expensive but its actually more expensive from the vendor at $120 plust s&h, $93 is just fine to me.. I've had this filter of my 11 SG, and 2010 Iron, now on my 14 SGS. Its a worthwhile investmnet IMO Thanks guys!

I've been doing the "cut the 2-liter soda bottle in half" thing for quite a while. I always end up spilling some oil and making small messes. I think I'd like to give the oil filter funnel a try. just haven't gotten around to buying one yet.

I always make a little mess with the HD funnel. Next time I'm going to try adding a thick rubber gasket so it will seal up better against the engine.

Tried using that orange funnel this weekend on a change. No matter what we tried on my 08 SG, just couldn't get the bottom lip under the filter enough to catch the oil. Spilt quite a bit (not the end of the world).

Will likely try a homemade solution next time.

No man can ever have enough tools or guns. That said. I bought the similar one from Harley Davidson. I like it and it works. I have no problem spending a little cash on any kind of tool imaginable. Most work but a few do not. I like tools. The funnel is a tool.

Ahh good call, it was the HD model.
Seemed like it would work in theory, but the end was bumping against part of bike so it couldn't get flush when we tried.

Spin filter off, tip up so doesnt flow oil out, spray cleaner where oil dripped cleans road grime off too. Put new filter on. For me more of a hassle messing around with funnels and such then just spin it off.

I have the H-D funnel oil catcher that goes underneath the filter, the H-D funnel for putting oil into the engine and transmission, the H-D gadget for pouring oil into the primary case, as well as the H-D flat oil drain.

With all of this, it seems that I can always manage to spill a few drops of oil somewhere and I end up using a half a roll of paper towels cleaning up the mess (and myself)!

I have the Rinehart XT True Duals on my bike, and accessing the oil fill/dipstick requires the use of the longneck funnel.

The flat oil drain pan is slick as you can take it to the local auto parts store, make the donation, and bring it back home for future use.
