Cuz I'm sure every one who has air cooled bikes that ride in stop and go traffic for any length of time in 110 deg Arizona heat or similar change their oil and battery every time!!! Oh and their lights.

I think I'll use the black tape. I did finally find an old threat from 09 that talked about the Zero reading. Sounds normal for these bikes it seems.

Reminds me of what an older Harley mechanic said. He said he would be more concerned about how much air was in his tires than how much oil pressure at idle on his harley!

FYI, the oil pressure light sensor is set at 4 psi, the light looks like its on zero when hot but if the oil light is not on youre ok. Does the oil light come on when you turn the ignition on before starting the engine? Thats a self test when it lights up like that, if its not coming on you have another issue.

Some of the auto mfr's fixed the problem years ago with owners freaking out when they saw low oil pressure readings on their gages when hot and idling. They redesigned the gages so they would read mid-range regardless of the actual pressure as long as there was minimal oil pressure. Happy customers now!!!!!!!!!! Of course they have no clue what their actual oil pressure is but hey, they quit complaining. Harley could go that route.
