Tried the Xied on a stock bike. It helped but ultimately I felt the bike needed more. New head pipe, air filter (kept the stock mufflers) and a tune on the dyno made me very happy. Bike runs great and has not pinged since.

I started out with HD stage 1, slip on mufflers and AC. Then added Xied, Then took off the Xied and went with Power Vision. In the end I went back to the beginning. the overall bike performance is best with the factory tune.

I have a decat with Rinehart slip ons and a screamin eagle a/c. I put a set of VIED's on mine . I cant tell any difference. But like others say. I "think" it runs better/cooler...so it does! LOL!

Again, all the threads all over this forum detail exactly what you ask. This is just another thread on the same subject. No intention of ripping you at all on these questions. Bottom line is what you want out of the bike and what you add (spend) to give you want you want. XiED/ViED are fine to give some extra fuel to the engine when more air is flowing through it. Is it the best tune, NO! But it will work to keep the engine from going too lean.... Tuner, well if you have the cash, go for it, but in turn, how often are you going to retune your ride? Once mapped, and no other changes, it stays pretty well fixed. Just remember more air flow the motor (just a big air pump) the more fuel it needs to maintains its AFR. IMO, do not use the HD STG1 mapping. It not worth the money you spend on it.... and the MOCO is mandated to maintain the EPA rules for emissions.

i have FM pro touring slipons. a arlen ness free flow a/c and xied,s. Bike runs great a small amount of cash was required. Sounds great to. Im happy. Would i be happier with a Flash or piggy back tuner. Maybe. Bike can be put back to stock in minutes too. I like that option.
