Default Should I use SE Fork Oil?

I stopped in at one of my local dealerships and was talking to them about swapping out my fork sliders with the ones I just got back from the powdercoater. During the conversation, the service guy told me they would refill it with SE fork oil. I told him I liked the ride and didn't really want to firm it up. He told me every customer they do fork sliders for puts SE fork oil back in. I was kinda surprised to hear that.

I searched past threads to learn some more about it but didn't really get the sense that this was common unless people had an issue with diving or guys were pretty heavy. I ride about 80% solo and weigh 190.

Is there any real benefit for me to use the SE fork oil?

what is the weight of the SE oil? i'm thinking one is 10wt and the other 15wt. Some like a firm front end and a 15 or 20wt fork oil works. others like a soft front end and use a 5-15wt. you will be hard pressed to figure out which weight the SE fork oils are. Personally i would use a good quality fork oil you can find in all other bike shops. BelRay is one I use. you can get those in various weights and you know what you're using. i'm sure someone with far more experience or knowledge will chime in shortly....but for ME, to be locked into using ONLY Harley parts/accessories/oils is not mandatory!!

I went from stock HD oil which is about 7.5 wt. from what I'm was told @ HD to Amsoil Shock Therapy #10 & like the ride much better than before. It may take you several types of brands & or consistences for the ride you like Good Luck

I went with SE oil when I lowered mine and it rode hard. I couldnt tell whether it was the oil or the lowering, so I switched to a 50/50 mix of stock and SE and it rides great. My guess is it was the oil for me.

10 weight fork oil should be fine. SE is also fine, I like SE heavy...depends on your weight and your riding style....I like the heavier weight because it eliminated the high speed wobble and the nose dive...everybody has a difference in preference...
