I have the packable HD rain suit....always with me. And has served me well on the numerous rainstorms I've encountered. Putting pants on with boots is always a pain. I like the idea of the plastic bag. I usually bunch up each leg and slide my boot through. A bit of a pain, but it beats getting wet. The downside on this rain suit is that it is pretty well sealed and not much breatheable material, so it does get warm when the rain stops and sun comes out. I would not want to remove anything that would help to circulate cooling air! If they did not take up a lot of room, I would invest in better rain gear that would provide some ventalation or cooling when warm out. Good luck on whichever way you go!!

Default Rain Gear

We have the X-Element from Leather-Up. I cut out the mesh lining on mine and have a week long trip to Pennsylvania and will let you know what I find out. Thanks for the good info!

I use the Walmart bag over the boots, works fine.

Rain gear is what you put on (in the rain) while hopping in and out of a lane of traffic on the highway on one foot. It is designed keep you completely dry while riding in the heaviest downpour...for about 10 minutes...at which time the rain finds its way inside anyway and you get a wet crotch, trouser legs, and a streak of cold water down your back and into your shorts.

That's why I strip to the boots and keep my dry clothes in the saddlebag. Riding bare *** moves most of the traffic out of the way too.

Heh! I've thought about that kinda thing before, but never tried it. A person could wear a t-shirt, gym shorts and tennis shoes and ride in the rain. When it's over ya dry off and put on your dry duds.

Of course, it's not always warm when it rains. It'd make a big difference if it was 40 degrees out and raining.
