No ethanol gas

I carry a small bottle of Lucas octane booster in case I need to use low octane fuel for this very reason. Treats up to 25 gallons and has worked well for me. Occasionally where we're riding we pass through small towns with a mom'n'pop gas station that only carryies 87 & 89, so I'll throw in a little octane boost when I fill up. I'm sure plenty think this is unnecessary, but I absolutely HATE the sound of pinging!!!

Been using 10% for over 20 years now with 0 ill effects. So why do you people think you must have pure gas?
We had a local station a couple years ago start selling 100% pure 90 octane and after less than 2 tanks it was a bear to start. Other guys in the club reported running like crap, some said smoking exhaust and strong raw fuel smell.
Took me 2 full tanks of the plain old 10% to get my bike back to normal operations.
I realize ethanol does not like rubber but again, I have never experienced any problems including 10's of thousands of miles on a snowmobile.
Don't get so hyper over it as long as it stays at 10%. I would be more worried about what the price of fuel is going to be in the very near future.

I use pure gas when ever I can get it. I will even use pure gas 87 octane if it the only octane in pure gas available in leu of 93+ corn gas. It runs much better, improves mpg by 3-4 mpg. It even smells right. There is an app you can download from puregas.org for your smartphone that lists pure gas stations by state. This is updated daily by users.
Yep, got the app. I live in South Phoenix, and all the local locations listed are far from me. It's nice to use on the road though.

My personal experience is swapping between the two has nothing to do with pinging, any fuel around 87 will ping in my bike whether it is ethanol or not. Probably could retard the timing slightly to correct for low octane fuel but would rather just run 91 + whenever possible. I can't tell any difference in the way the bike runs on either except fuel mileage seems alittle better on pure fuel.

none ethanol is becoming very poplar in my area. We now have stations that sell only none ethanol gas. Some are just 93 and some are 87. I do use it in my bikes but not my truck. I get better mileage with ethanol for some reason.
Within 20 miles from me there are at least to 10 stations that sell none ethanol fuel @93 grade.

There is a no corn station close to my house and I buy most of my gas there,I can definitely tell the difference. An added benefit is that a lot of guys with bikes and hobby cars fill up there. When I get gas, I usually see a lot of nice bikes and cages and sometimes shoot the bull for a while.
