Another Rim Question
I see a lot of guys doing the 18 in the rear, and a 21 in the front on HogPro.com. Looks likeit does raise the back end of the bikea fair amount.I have an '06 SG. I don't want to lose the"stance" that myStreet Glide came with from the factory. My question is, would a 18 in the front and a 16 in the rear be ok? Has anyone seen this setup?
Would I still have the same "stance" asI do stock? I was looking at doing 18's front and back, but it looks like the @ss end is raised a little with the bigger rim.
Any help is appreciated.

RE: Another Rim Question
Not to change your mind about the HogPro wheels, but you might be able to get a good idea from an friend of HogPros, Renegade Wheels (www.renegadewheels.com). Their website has some images with your model bike with different size wheels on it. Check it out. Oh, the other thing to keep in mind is the use of a lower profile tire. I have the 21" on front and 18" on back. It raised the bike about 3/4" which wasn't a problem for me.

RE: Another Rim Question
I appreciate the feedback, but I'm still a little confused.
Of course when I'm trying to remember who has custom rims on here, I can't. Grrr.
Does anyone know what the rear shock height is for a '06 SG? I'm looking at going with Hogpro18's in the front and back with the Metzler 880's.
How much taller will it be in the front, and the rear? Can anyonewho has Hogprocustom rims measurefor me so I can compare the heights?
Perrty please.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Another Rim Question
Something else to keep in mind is how much rim do want to show.Bigger rims will show more rim under the bag at the rear even with low profile. The low profile will change the total height. I put 21 in front and a 17 in rear both low profile. I had already lowered the front but not the rear. Some think low profile wheels dont ride as well. I dont notice that much difference.Personally, I like looking at more rim and less tire. My .02.....

RE: Another Rim Question
Okay Kern, here are the hard facts. Overall heights from the factory web sites:
REAR
Dunlop MU85B16 25.71"
Metz 140/70B18 25.79"
Metz 150/70B18 26.26"
Metz 160/60R18 25.79"
Front
Dunlop MT90B16 25.30"
Metz 130/70B18 25.31"
Metz 140/70B18 25.91"
Metz 120/70B21 27.80"
The overall height of the tire is what determines the height of the bike and as you can see the low profile 18's are within fractions of an inch of being the same height as the factory rear, so you will not get a change in height of the bike. It only looks like it due to the fact that you see an inch more wheel under the bags. Now for the front a 21" wheel will raise the front on the bike by 1.25" as the 120/70B21 in 2.5" taller overall than the factory 16". If you want to keep the front the same height, you have to either run an 18" on the front or use a 21" and lower the front of the bike. I personally like the slight additional rake the 21" gives the bike, but to each their own. Hope this helps. I will try to get a picture of my SG with the 21/16 combo I an currently running as it is also Cobalt with the Power Curves so it should give you a good point of reference.
