Default Fork mounted wind deflectors and soft lowers

For the Touring bikes, 09 Glides (classic)

Do the fork mounted wind deflectors work ?

Does anyone have a comparison between the new version which seem more rounded

# 57400146 90 seen here
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...CatEntryType=2

and the older ones which are more straight # 58121-85B seen here

Also, the soft lowers that go on the crash bars, how do they work as far as the wind goes, do they help ?

I had the JES deflectors. They work well, but they dramatically cut the air to the passenger, and they steer the bike in crosswinds. I may put them back on in the winter, but not for a long highway ride.

I have the HD deflectors and airlite.ca soft lowers. I can keep the deflectors on year-round however the soft lowers must come off above 50 degrees else my engine overheats. WHen it is cold those soft lowers make a huge difference...rain too.

I have the more square-ish wind deflectors on my SG and they make big difference. I also have soft lowers and again - big difference. They're part of what makes it possible/comfortable for me ride through the winter - even in single digit temperatures.

I just put the new deflectors on my '14 SGS and I'm very pleased. I didn't realize how much air was coming under the fairing. Overall buffeting, as well as wind to the head has been reduced dramatically. I actually cancelled an order for a taller windscreen because the airflow has improved so noticeably.

I also like the looks of the more aerodynamic design.

Default No Temperature Restriction

A similar product to the Airlite, the Desert Dawgs have NO temperature restriction due to their patented design that flows air through the engine. Customers in FL keep them on even in hot weather because of the monsoon rains...I use them myself in the 70s and 80s if it's raining.http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/harl...n-rain-guards/
