I think that is what my last helmet did! Took a sh-t

Thanks curmudgeon; I took a look at that site webbikeworld and they seem to have some good ratings for helmet.... the range is incredible from 150-550 for a helmet....

I just got a Caberg flip up helmet and am happy with it so far. Just a bit wierd getting used to from no helmet. Check out http://www.helmetharbor.com/they have good prices from what I found and only seem to sell the better quality helmets.

Don't shoot me, BUT I bought a helmet at a Honda dealership. Bought two actually, for the wife and myself. Flat black with a matted black flame. Looks awsome and not to much of that mushroom look. Both cost me $94, with tax. DOT and all. Wife only agreed to the harley if I always wore a helmet. A year later, we both only wear them on longer rides. Having two young girls, I should always wear it, I know. But, I love the feel without it. But I know I WOULD NOT love the FEEL if I ever lay it down.

- Have wrecked when I was younger more than once, and at no fault of my own I might add, and I know the helmet saved my skull in at least one of those. I slid completely under a moving truck that had turned in front of me (laid it down, saw sky, then the underside of the truck, then sky again). Great thing was that by the time I had gotten up off the ground, a biker saw what had happened andwas beating the guy when the cops got there(they let him go).

- I drive a bit faster nowand wonder how much a helmet will help at 90mph. Pretty much toast either way I figure.

Its my understanding that the carbon fiber is stronger (along with being lighter) than fiberglass. In fact, I think its what they make the front spoiler out of on the new NASCAR 'Car of Tomorrow.'

I bought a ROOF Boxer V

best of both worlds, the flip up can go right over the back of the helmet and sit there and you have yourself a open face

i have an nxt 1/2 helmet from nexl. it is very similar to the carbon fiber helmets. very small, light and comfortable. and it is dot rated. i only paid 80 bucks for it. if i were looking for a new helmet and didn't mind spending the money, carbon fiber might be the way to go, but if you are looking to save a few bucks.....

Look at 3d helmets - both dot and non dot helmets. My blood covered spike helmet gets as much looks as my bikes - lot cheaper too...
