Do NOT rent a 14 touring!!

I won't BS and say I stole the bike. But, as mentioned, they offered me more than I would have ever expected for mine and then discounted the bike I wanted. I believe the total discount was about $1300. And get this, originally they wrote up the deal for a black bike, which I didn't want. They had the Sand Camo bike with a $1000 off tag on the floor. When I asked earlier (and in passing when I was there to buy an oil filter) why they discounted just that bike, they said they got too many as an allotment and just wanted to move the bike. So with that in mind I asked if they would reduce the deal by $1000 because, in fact, I wanted the Sand Camo bike, not the black. They said I could have the $1000 discount, but because of the paint option, it was a more expensive bike. But, it still saved me $500 over the basic black bike. Go figure.
Thanks for posting up the pics. That's the look I'm going for. I ordered most of that yesterday through Kutter. It's amazing how much money one can save by doing it that way. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for the stuff to arrive. Then I'll set aside a weekend and start swapping. The one thing I couldn't find in the catalog was the black tank console. They just show chrome. I'll have to dig further.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's nice to hear I'm not the only one who likes that color.

Thanks!
I wouldn't have believed it unless I experienced it. Light years ahead of my 11 (which I had done quite a bit of work to - 107 kit etc) in handling and overall feel. I hesitate to say it, but it felt like a Honda - but better of course. Smooth, powerful, and very easy to ride. HD really is ushering in a new era with the 14s. I honestly had no intention of trading up. Hell, I just changed the oil the day before and put an oil cooler and new tires on 6 weeks prior. The whole reason I even saw the bike I bought was because I went in to buy an oil filter. Then the wheels started turning in the mind and I figured, what the heck - take one for a ride. The rest is history.

Lol. I told her by phone right after I bought it. She emotionally blocked the information out for a full 5 minutes. She just kept saying "What do you mean you bought a different bike?' She just couldn't process it.
She'll warm up to it. I'll have to get the removable tourpack in short order and make it a little louder with slip-ons because the louder the better for her. I think she'll really dig the bluetooth capabilities for listening to tunes on trips. I hope.
