No street glide here so maybe there's a difference, but I removed the strap when I took off the stock seat and replaced it with the Hammock on my Road King Classic and it hasn't hurt anything. Hammock seat didn't come with a strap. The only way for the seat to come loose would be if the screw at the rear fell out completely.

The total length with the attaching loops unfolded at each end is 25.50". From mount to mount is 22.50", 1.50" fold at each end... on my 13 Street Glide,

All he asked was the length!! Maybe I have this all wrong, but what do you think the strap is used for?

why would it hurt anything? i think it's there so the rider on the back has something to hold on to.

You 'Think' the strap is used by the passenger to hold on to? I know what the strap is used for, but I don't think KYB knew.
This just keeps getting better.

seat strap is used for the same thing as the reflectors...........so your first mods are cheap, easy and fast.

Mine didn't even come with one when I purchased new at dealer. Didn't notice until several months after I owned it. So what is it far anyway? Just to hold the seat if the screw comes off or for rider to hold on too?

I would have took it off anyway.
