HD Hammock Seat and Mustan Adj Backrest
OK, I put my new HD hammock seat on my RG. Only problem is that the mounting bracket of my Mustang seats rider back rest is up against the leading edge of the slot in the hammock seat. If it were possible to move the bracket an inch or so to the back there would be a perfect fit instead of a big gap where you can see down to the frame and the back rest bracket.
Any suggestions?

I am confused but I have been awake a long time. Why do you want to keep the Mustang bracket? If you are still wanting to use tour Mustang riders backrest try their site to see if their is a relocation kit. I was just looking on the site a while ago but do not recall seeing what you are looking for. Otherwise get the HD bracket and backrest. Personally I think it is more adjustable.

I have this very same setup. I drilled two new holes in the main bracket one inch toward the front to allow it to go back about on inch. Then I welded an extention to the "T" bracket to alow for the additional upward position. After further review I think I could have just shimmed the "T" bracket up with some washers and longer bolts.
Well for the 1 ride I took with it on, it seemed pretty good. It smoothed out some rough spots on the road. The extra 2 inches of padding, needless to say, does make you sit higher so if you have short legs it may not be the thing for you. The seat is wider than stock so that may or may not be an issue.
