Default 130/70/18?

I am looking for feedback on tires. I am putting a 2011 18" wheel on the front of my 2000 RK and would like to know which tires you recommend. I know that they are sold with a load rating, but not sure of what to look for. Thanks

Best regards,
Ed

I believe Dunlop makes an 18" front in their American Elite series.

Thanks, I will look into those. I am inclined to go with the factory Dunlop (Harley Davidson) tire, but not sure if there are better ones out there.

Best regards,
Ed

+1 on the American Elite
That is what I am running on my Street Glide with that size front.
Very happy with these tires.

Although the American Elite is a Dunlop, it is not the factory model tire.

You can get the factory Harley Dunlop, the American Elite, Michelin Commander and probably a few others in the front 130/70-18 size.

I have metzeler me880 130/70/18 on front and 150/70/18 on back. Good tires but I think might be discontinued. I put a new front on in February and had no problems getting it then though.

I'm doing the same swap on my 05 King. Make sure your front and rear are both bias ply. I'm going with Metzeler ME 880 as well. They are a 63H load rating that my Indy shop said will work fine just make sure your rear tire is a 77H load tire. Metzeler does make a 150 in that. I had Metzelers on my Street Glide. They were awesome.

Commander II or ME888 if available in that size. Dunlops are too hard. You feel every bump in the road. An 880 will work fine but will not get nearly as much mileage as anything else I listed.

Good info...I will stay away from Dunlops!

+1 on the American Elites. I just replaced front and rear and my 06 SG. Now I hope I get the mileage like others have gotten out of them.
