This is quite a giggle really isn't it? I mean how many thread have there been on 'buffeting' regarding SGs? All of a sudden they are the worlds best fairing, I'd love to see it demonstrated in a wind tunnel and yes I do own one!

On a serious note, I do like the way the SG instruments sit compared to the RK I had before the three batwing bikes I have had since - just looking forward to a change

Boy I'm glad you're switching teams. Here ya go Shark club - your new member

PS Lord Fauntleroy - all bikes with fairings and windshields have buffeting to a certain extent. It's all in how you deal with it.

I hope for the sake of all Harley owners you do. But I'm thinking he's transitioning from a Vespa not a Street Glide so you may have your work cut out for you.

I stand corrected. Shark Tank.

You're really just here to be judgmental, call people names, and be an all around asshat. Right?

You're doing good. Anything else you trying to accomplish? Just wondering.

do a little experiment...attach about 15-20 pounds worth of weight to your forks and let us know how the handling and performance changes. That's essentially the same thing as a fork mounted fairing...compared to the Roadie.

I think you should be the one that does the experiment you suggest? The weight on the batwing us sprung weight so there is no loss of suspension performance? The weight rotates on ball bearings so adding15-20 pounds does almost nothing to increase the force required to rotate the extra weight. It certainly does not require 15-20 lbs additional force to rotate the faring, more like a couple oz.in. or less. It looks to me like there is more side area on the Road Glide so a crosswind will have a greater impact on stability plus the (sail) area is further away from the center of mass so that increases the effect even more. I have driven both and I don’t think they handle all that different.
