Default Blue Ridge Rental

I am planing to rent a cabin/house in NC around Maggie Valley next April and May. I was wondering what are the riding conditions at this time of year.
Any suggesting on an rental agency would be helpful. I would perfer to be up in the mountians.
This will be our base and we will travel outward from here to enjoy the area.

We were just in Maggie Valley for a week in early May, stayed at the Jonathan Creek Inn, great place, nice deck out back and river runs behind it. A few days we were able to wear short sleeves, but most of the time long sleeve, or light jacket, we were also very lucky we only had one day of rain, and made the most of that day going to a great motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley and then up to Biltmore Estates. The last time leaving Maggie Valley head toward Texas is was 38 degrees, in this was May 17th, you will love the riding there, can't wait to go back, enjoy.

It's all in the mountains there. You've got to go a ways to get out of them.

Check Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, TN for rentals as well.

I've used these people a ton of times.

Website is kinda... yeah, but the homes are very nice and located mostly in Bryson city which is a great starting point for daily rides.

There was a rental shop on I40 at Kodak TN ... If you'll be going that way.

I use Homeaway.com. I can usually rent a house or condo for the same money that you'd spend on a motel room for a week.

I can be on the BRP in minutes from home. Have been on it in April when there was still snow and ice, even closures. If there is a mild winter should not be a problem. Personally if I was vacationing there I would go in May if not later. A few thousand feet in elevation is considerably cooler than in the foothills. If you are looking for adventurous rides there are plenty. If you see a road called XXX gap try it. May be short but just about guaranteed to be a hoot.

I rode to Maggie Valley the first weekend in May. The weather was great!
Look up "Ride the Rattler" it has 290 curves in 24 miles. Traffic was very light and the pavement was in great shape.
It's not as popular as the "Dragon" but it's just as fun.

The Cherohala Skyway is a nice ride too. Better road with nice sweeping turns. I enjoyed it more than the dragon. Ride safe. Lots of nuts up there sometimes.
