Default Wind Splitter on a Street Glide

I have a 2013 Street Glide and the stock Windshield is not doing it,s job .
I read the Wind Splitter is working for most people .
What size did you go to and is it working for you ?

I am 6'1" and the wind hits me in the face . Should I try a 7 inch or go higher . I just don,t feel like buying more than one .

thanks

Can't you demo one at your dealership?

+1. Demo one from your dealer before plunking down that chunk of change. I'm 5'4" and using a 7 inch Windsplitter on my Ultra - works well for me.

I'm 5-9 and use the 7". Pretty much perfect for me. Like others have said, go demo them at your dealership. Mine also does seats and they are more than willing to let you take either for the afternoon so you can do more than a test ride around the block.

I called the Dealer and talked to the parts guy . He said the 2013 is different and they don't have a Demo for it ? I was going to order the 7 inch but if I can't try it first I may do something else .

Sounds like BS to me

look at LRS windshileds. Lots of folks on this web use them. I never have but you should check it out. They have many sizes and are priced right. Use the HDF20 for a discount. Others may chime in as to their experiences.

Ask him what year they have a demo for and try that. They're all the same.

I'd stay away from both the HD Windsplitters and the Klock Werks. Both over priced. Your paying for the name.

Try the LRS as mentioned above as well as fastaire. Both seem to review pretty well. I'm running a fastaire 8" aero recurve.

I am 6' with a long torso (30" inseam) so I sit high. The 10" works great for me. I have 7 different windshields, and this is my favorite. I will say that I want to get a 7" one too for the cool factor look when I am just cruising around town. Now for I town riding and hot weather riding I use a stock street glide shield.

we know the 2014 fairing is different, but what would have changed for the 2013?
I have the 7" and it works fine compared to original. I am 5'8', recently read another thread where a 6'3" guy said the 7 did not work for him.

W/S is just their answer to the K/W which is very over-rated IMO.
I say that as I had one and got rid of it.
Now running a 9 " recurve w/just a flip at the top.
Make sure your windshield is fitted to you.
I like to be able to see over the top of mine just a bit, or like it to hit between the indent of my chin and the bottom of my nose so that way I can duck in if there is a rain storm.

2013 fairing is NO Different than is my 09.
Parts guy is full of it.
You'd do best to stay away from that dealership or at the least that part's guy.
