Default Street Glide Mod: Fairing removal.

Has anyone ever seen a street glide moded without the fairing?

I am considering this.... not really crazy about the fairing or any fairing at this point. I was thinking about making my bike llok more like a RK. I love the "thug" look of a RK with apes.

Stupid move?
Anyone have any pics of such a mod?

It would probably be easier to trade it for a Road King.

Do not take offense to this question; but by chance have you ever taken the outer portion of the fairing off and seen the mess a cables back there?

One nice rock to the face and you'll be wanting the fairing back.

That's funny, I was thinking the exact same thing while riding this weekend. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my street glide and would never do it but a long stretch of slab got my mind wondering. Lol

Better off trading it in as you would eliminate any potential resale, if that's a concern.

Nowhere to hid all the wires in there.

Pulling the fairing off gets rid of most those wires (radio & gauges) but ya may want a roadking tank and console along with headlight?

The Road King gives you the added advantage of adding a removable faring later should you change your mind.

Coming from a Dyna to a Street Glide, I love having a fairing, but; to each his own.
