As a point of reference, the 110 upgrade kit for wet head 103's (PN 92500020) is $2,000. Includes pistons, 255 cam, heads, gaskets, etc.

It could be done but not as seamless as the new bikes. You'd have to figure out a way to mount the pump. Forget a 2014 ECM to control it, its a totally different bus system. You might be able to run the fans and pump off a oil temp switch or something. The 2 wiring systems are not compatible. The can-bus system of the 2014 bikes makes it impractical to upgrade a older bike. Trade up or seek other solutions like oil coolers or fans for the heads are my opinion.

i think the wet heads have a higher compression ratio and would run hotter without the water cooling. i think i like air cooled more and more.

Wow man you make this sound so complicated. I'm pretty sure all that would be needed is a thermostatically controlled switch to turn everything on. Kind of the same way guys used to like to do when building hotrods and wanted to get away from power robbing mechanical fans to cool the radiator.

There are a lot better ways to throw away money on your bike but it is your money. Of the 5 Harley's I've owned, approx. 0 of them needed this mod.

Yeah in about five minutes with empty water jackets.

It would be more practical to always ride in the rain.

That's the main reason right there.

My money says sooner or later there is an upgrade kit available whether from the MotorCo or aftermarket. I honestly don't think the conversion is all that complicated. Price is a different discussion. You don't need the ECM to control the water pump or fans.

Actually the water cooled models have a little more compression, they all have different cams.
