Wash? You mean you are supposed to wash these things?

I cover the seat and the dash and the locks every time I get caught in the rain... haha

No, I ride in the rain when necessary, but seldom in such a tail wind that the rain overtakes me and hits my speakers directly like it would if I were to spray the speakers while washing!

I wash mine about weekly, sometimes more depending on how dirty it gets. I don't cover anything and I do not, not spray water somewhere. The only issue I ever had was water got in to the aux input because I left the jack plugged in from my 665. It meant XM didn't work for about 30 minutes until it dried out. Now, I just pull the jack and replace the plug in the hole. I pull my 665, Power Vision and plug the aux input and that's it. I spray water at my speakers and use soapy water on the inner faring. I use a very light "rain shower" mode on my sprayer to wet and rinse the bike.

I do use air to blow off a lot of the water from the radio, speakers, switches, and around the mirrors to get the water that is trapped behind the glass. I will then dry my ride and come back with air to blast all the little nooks and crannies that seem to collect water.

I rode 250 miles yesterday. At least 150 was in the rain. I guarantee everything about that bike was wet, including the speakers. I listened to the radio the whole way. No problems. I wash my bike at the car wash with the pressure washer. I don't spray the dash directly but I don't cover anything. No problems. It wouldn't make much sense to make a motorcycle that can't get wet, would it?

I usually take the seat off (easy) prior to wash... and place a large zip-loc bag that fits over the air cleaner (super easy).

can't remember (aside from rain) the last time any bike I owned saw soap and a hose.

I wrap a plastic bag around the A/C. I also, wear a jockstrap, since I'm an old geezer, & don't want my low hangers to come in contact with any sharp edges.
