I do enjoy ribbing with friends on what's what, your bike sucks, sport/metric bikes don't do squat, sitting duck bikes and et. cetera.
Strangers, Never had one come up in my face and spew some BS except the nice remarks or discussions/questions about my bike or other friend's bikes.

There are a few guys who have screamin eagles who I ride with occasionally and they think my 2013 street glide in black denim is ugly. I don't really care what they think actually. I love my black denim SG its got a little chrome to go with some black accessories and 12" monkey bars. All they worry about is what they look like on there bike etc. I on the other hand don't care about that, I love to ride and put on about 15K miles a year which isn't to bad for living in RI. They on the other hand might put 3k miles on a year I guess there all show and no go.

Some people just think you need to hear their opinion no matter what. I don't really give a rats *** whether folks like my bike or not, I didn't buy it for them.
It's funny when I had a bought my VTX I had a friend of a friend who has a 10 year old Softtail with 3k on it turn his nose up and say "Oh, you bought a Honda".
Then after I bought my Ultra a dude I've known for quite a while who owns a GW shook his head and said "Why in hell did you buy a Harley?"
Fugg em' both.
As pertaining to the Pan, don't touch it, it's cool as hell "patina" and all.

It's all the new generation of "riders" that are trying to buy "cool".
I hate to break it to them, the girls at Starbucks think they are dorks and the ladies at the HD shop just smile and take their money while thinking they are dorks too.
Confidence and cool come from within.

Well times do change. I had my first motorcycle at the age of 16, I'm now 68 and still ride. I just about owned all kinds, Sears, Eagle, Vespa, Lambreta, I remember when Hondas first came out. A dealer came to our school with a Pink squared fender model and challenged anyone to race. That Honda blew everyone away, guess he made his point. Looking back, the best bike I've owned was a BMW CL1200, that was a comfortable safe ride. Now at 68 I have a TriGlide and I'm really liking it. It's a different way to ride, but as they say, it's just learning the bike. Sometimes when I'm at a Harley store I'll hear guys making a comment about the TriGlide, mostly it's a sissy bike. I think to myself and say, bet you could afford one ($35,000 ) to see what your missing. lol Well to each their own. Enjoy what you have and respect others..
