Default brakes squealing after rotor change

I had my factory rotors warp on my 06 king and replaced the calipers with chrome ones, new pads and bought polished rotors. The have been on for about 300 miles now and when coming to a stop I get a loud squeal, almost like rubbing your finger around the top of a glass sound. Any cures for this?

the pads are vibrating.

a silicone type paste should have been applied to the backs of the pads on install ( any auto parts store)

the caliper pins should have antiseize paste on them

the leading edge of the pad may be chamfered with sandpaper at a 45º angle

hard pads are more likely to vibrate, but last longer then soft pads

Default brake squeal

Yes, you should be able to cure it by pulling the calipers and spray brake cleaner on them to clean all the dust out. Then put some of the brake compound on the back of the pads. You can get it from any parts store. It comes in little packets like you get ketchup in in some restaurants.

That has always fixed brake squeal for me.

The rotors also have a protective coating that needs to be cleaned off prior to using otherwise it builds up on the pads. Clean the pads and spray down the rotors to get off whatever little coating is left at this point. Make sure the slide pins are greased and like mkguitar said chamfer the leading edge.

Finally got around to cleaning and lubricating them and no change. Any other ideas?

Wish I could help. The rear disc on my 08 SG has squealed since the day I bought it 2 years ago. Last week I had a new rear tire installed and mentioned the squeal to the mech. When I picked the bike up he apologised for being so busy he really didn't have a chance to look at the brakes.

The crazy part.............the brakes have no squealed since the tire change.....have no idea what he may have done.

So after 300 miles does it look the new pads are biting into the new rotors? The pads should be aggressive enough to cut through the polished braking surface. If not that could be your problem.

It's been 500-1000 miles with no change. The rotors are scuffed up so that should be ok.

I would have thought what Mike said would have done the trick...Who did the work? The STEALER?
