Default Fairing Tweeters

I am interested in getting some fairing tweeters to put in place of the air and volt gauges. Harley has one 77036-11a and so does J&M ROKKER Series Dash Tweeter Speakers Kit 98-13 Harley BatWing/RoadGlide Fairing.. Harley is in the $ 50 range and the J & M's are $ 120 +
What the hell is the difference in these? I have a Hog Tunes Amp and J & M speakers

Help would be appreciated

I don't know what the difference is between the 2 you mentioned but FWIW I have the hogtunes tweeter pod, it hooks to the front speakers no splicing and sounds great. Might be good to keep the volt gauge, just MHO.

What kind of main speakers do you have? If you have the stock (or any other cheap) speakers, a couple of tweeters aren't going to help. Plus you need a crossover. There are a lot of 6.5" component options with crossovers available in the $150-200 range. I prefer Focal, but there are many other quality ones noted in the forum. That would be my advise as far as bang for your buck.

I use the hawg wired tweeters, they come with a cross over and just plug in line with your speakers. The hog pods are nice but don't you have to drill into your inner fairing to mount them?

I have the J&M ones...and they are awesome. I thought I had an issue with the sound from them before but it turned out to be the tweeters in my 6.5s. The Rokkers can go up REALLY LOUD and pierce your ears if you arent careful...and they stay crystal clear too. Oh yeah, they are only getting 17 watts each from my clarion...imagine what they would sound like if they got about 50....whew

I would recommend matched component speakers rather than just wiring up some generic tweeters. I'm running JL C2 6.5s but there are many quality speaker sets out there.

I guess I forgot to mention, I have the J & M 7.25 speakers in the fairing running on a hogtunes amp.

I would try a more powerful amp on the 7.25's before adding tweeters.
