I switched to the 888's from the 402's, and I think they have a better ride. I am not an aggressive rider, but they handle really good to me. Time will tell about longevity, as I only have about 3500 miles on them so far.

E3's much better then 402's, and the Michilain Commander 2's I am running now a little better than the E3's.

I might have to try these 888's.

To me the Commander II were just marginally better than the 402's The Elite III was better than both. Haven't tried the 888 yet.

I quit using Dunlop when I couldn't get 50 miles without getting sidewall cracks on the D408's Always liked the 402's but use the 880 Metzlers now and going to try 888's next

Mileage is dependent on how much air you put in the tires and whether or not you're carrying a passenger. After 14 years riding Harleys, I can tell you that I get an average of 11,000 miles with my rear Dunlop 402 and over 30,000 on the front. I put 42psi for the rear for single rider and 44psi when I carry passenger. For the front, 38psi will add miles to your tires.

I have about 2500 miles on it, and it's probably half worn. How the hell are you guys getting over 10,000 miles out of any tire? I ride mine until they are flat and bald in the center.

rear tire commander mu85b16 as of 7-10-14 have 4'553 miles on and have only 3/32nds
of tread left. thats 1/32 from being in the yellow zone with the harley depth gauge. next I think I'll might try the 888. I did like the handling of the tire in curves, much better than 402 , how ever it seems alittle less traction when stopping than the 402 (tire would lock up quicker) and I noticed that from the get go. I don't consider myself to be a hard rider but I will crank the throttle some times.
kroozeabout. ps the commander does lock up quicker.
I posted this 3:55 the power went off in the last session and I was able to resume it must have thrown something off. sorry for whatever its doing. I only posted this once.

The stock 402s are awful. E3s are a no-brainer upgrade.

I'm running a Metzeler 880 on an 18" rear wheel now, and they're a decent tire. I'm going back to an Avon Cobra on my next tire change.
