Who's extended their riders floorboards without issue?
I bought the harleygoodies extenders (pulls boards 1" away from bike) for my softail, and loved the comfort! However i did scrape rather easily, and it built up sort of a phobia of hitting turns.
Now i am hesitant to extend my floorboards on my 14 RK, but stil hate that my foot is half-off the board at all times
Can anyone relate? Any advice?

I bought the 3/4" extenders for my glide from here. http://sooskits.com
They made the ride a lot more comfortable. I do tend to scrape the floorboards a lot, but I just push them back down. Of course, that probably has more to do with my riding a Buell for years and less to do with the extensions.

I could not see an improved comfort by raising them at all ... if anything, i need them forward and out. I am 6"2 and more leg room is always better than less, for me

That option was taken away in 2009 with the redesigned frame which made the footboard brackets fixed.

I put the 3/4" Kury version on the Ultra. Much more comfortable and worth the few times I've scraped since installing. I came from a Heritage where I always had to think about scraping boards; I hardly give it a thought with this new bike even w/ extenders. Biggest issue with them was removing that rear bolt on the footboards was a giant PITA. Hint: get an Allen driver set for your socket wrench. Makes life much easier.
