If you use any kind of bolt on extension kit it's going to affect the lean angle.
Not a big deal but you may scrape more. You get used to it.

Crazy that even in stock form the brackets hit before the footboard... Why the footboard even has a pivot on it is beyond me.

Bought the one inch extension kit off someone on eBay. No issues. Cobra head pipe scrapes before floorboard. Much improved comfort.

thats right my last ride was a heritage, and after installing harleygoodies extenders i had a phobia of scraping .. which had me hesitating on twisties

i know the RK is taller and im hoping that resolved my issue but i just wanted to know what others thought

I'm 6'2" and used the "formerly harleygoodies" ext on rider and passenger. Haven't had the rider scrape a single time on my 12 RK and I've gotten pretty low in turns. On my 06 Deluxe, I scraped a few times. I don't think it's an issue of Softails being lower b/c I put the Shotgun Shocks on my RK and with it lowered a bit, still no scraping.

I'd have to lean over real far to scrape my 2012 FLHTK with the Harleygoodies extensions. I sometimes cut corners pretty deep and nothing...used to scrape all the time on my older bike, but I think these footboards must be up higher?

I bought the Kury ones and dont like the position it put me in. Going back to Harley goodies like I've had on last 3 bikes. Love their position and zero problems scraping. Goodies just come out an inch whereas the Kurys spit you out an inch and forward an inch. Drives me nuts with my brake peddle

You didn't say which softail you had, but most, if not all, softails have very limited lean angles. They scrape in the twisties MUCH easier than an RK. I have harleygoodies extenstions on my RK and still rarely scrape. Not a problem at all.

Have Harly goodies 1" extensions and have never scraped. IMHO, if 1" extensions are making you scrape your floorboards, you need to slow down. A Road King is a TOURING bike, not a GSXR.
