Living in Ga, we have a lot of deer around. I was wondering if there is any new data as to how well those little deer whistle stick-on things work. I've never had one because I'd heard they weren't effective, but I don't know for sure.
I am a fleet safety manager for a major trucking company. Deer hits are our number one accident other than backing. There is no proven technology to prevent deer hits. Deer whistles are useless, just a gimmick.
They work for me,I've been on the highway driving commercial transport for 27yrs, never had a deer hit the truck, not even a close call. I have watched deer standing in fields and the second they hear the whistle they are off and running. One must clean the whistle out, mine get plugged up with bugs in the summer,so I clean them once a week.Just my experience.
