I do it all, that's why I bought a king. I have a Dead Center quick attach fairing and H-D hard vented quick attach lowers for road trips. A look over Clear View shield with a recurve for shorter summer road trips and no shield for short trips around town which is how I have it set up now. I can go from wind in your face cruiser to full up tourer with tunes in a minute!

I don't have a RK, but on my Heritage I used to leave on for long rides or if cold. Now that I have the FLHTK I leave it off the Heritage all the time since I only ride it on short rides and when its not cold. I will say that with it off it beats the hell out of ya over 65 and my back starts hurting. Age and 2 back surgeries have caught up. Funny thing that as a teenager we had no windshields and no eyepro and didn't think twice about it.
