here is whats worked for me the last few years.

Have tried the expensive kits and they work well but....hassle,reapply, cost..ect.

Got this stuff its cheap its called scratch doctor, use a buffing wheel or even a mini wheel on a drill for the really bad scratches. its cheap and it doesn't dole like a cleaning compound can on a buffing wheel. took every scratch and a few boo boos out of the paint(stock black) with out stripping the paint. I do this rarely ,but took 8 years of scratches and dings right off the bat wing til it looked like new.
(have used other products on spots of my car to test them and they doled the hell out of it so be carefull with the buffing wheel)

every other year its turtle wax stuff in a green short can, its cheap and works fine when i want to go above and beyond soap and water.

Both my bikes are black and I use Poor Boys Black Hole and that stuff works. My bikes look wet, no scratches and bugs hardly stick to them. I swear by the stuff if you own a black or red bike. Check them out on line.

Get yourself a inexpensive small orbital hand held polisher from Wallyworld and a small bottle of POLISHING compound and go to work not applying too much pressure, keep the polisher moving.

I decided I like swirls and scratches...now I have more time to do other stuff! (my counselor told me if I'd keep telling myself this it would greatly improve my OCD problem!)

Just take your bike to an honest body shop. will be faster and less money than buying a bunch of crap that either doesnt work or just hides the scratches temporary,,,,i been a painter 35 years
