help me pick between two cams
2005 ultra currently with stage one pcv, dragos 2 into 1. I want to do a 97 or 98 big bore and have the heads done but cant afford it at this time. I am going to do the screamin eagle hydraulic upgrade with cams for now. My question is which cam will be better now and after big bore and head job and what is the difference between the two.I don't ride two up very often. wife isn't into riding.The two cams that are being recommended to me are the andrews 26 and andrews 37. Any insight on these two choices would be appreciated.

Personally I would use either the SE203 or 204. Both work well with the big bore but I find the 203 really good for Touring bikes as it has low down grunt and smooth delivery. HP/TQ numbers mean nothing, you need to tailor the cam to your needs.
97 and 98 big bores are snake oil. They are little more than the max oversize for the 95.
95 is fine for what you need and probably cheaper.

Don't rule out SS 510g cam's. I had the in my 98" 2005. The 510 cam are tq monsters, end up with 100hp and 112lb tq. I had the heads reworked, roller lifters, cam plate, and new SE clutch. And still got 40 mpg when ridden right, which is hard to do. The 510's make it thump like a dragster, but also make the exhaust a lot louder.

I would go with the 37. You won't realize the full benefit until you do the bore and heads, but they would be better suited to the compression bump than the 26 after the work is done.

If he is doing the build and recommending them by all means go with the man. I would pick the SE204, then 203 then 37 then 26. Once you have the piston to valve clearance and springs for larger cams I would consider the S&S 551 or Andrews 57.
