Default Torque wrench on oil change

How many of you guys use the in-lbs torque wrench when you do oil changes?
The only in-lbs wrench (22"-lbs) I can find that will go that low in a click type is a Snap On and it is a good one but it costs like crazy. Cant really use a beam type, cant see it.

I never have used a torque in this application before, always just used a socket set. Just wondering if these drain plugs and threads are so much weaker than normal that they would require a exact torque.

If you get a feel for it one time, you can duplicate it by hand. Only problem is the end result is bad if you strip it, or even worse, Crack the case.

You don't say what model bike you have. My 09 calls for 14-21 foot Pounds!

12-14 ft lbs is the most I'd go. I go by feel on the drain plugs.

CDI makes the snap on. I've got this one. Looks great but isn't any more accurate than my harbour frieght wrench....big difference in appearance and finish though.

Forget clicking wrenches, they need to be calibrated in every three months, and even then I wouldn't trust the cheap ones, they just click randomly.

If you use a torque wrench, remember to read the foot notes at the bottom of the torque wrench instructions. There is a chart for a reduced percentage of torque for oiled threads.

I just snug it until my elbow or shoulder clicks whichever clicks first.

That is a pretty broad statement. You mean if you use it everyday, or is mine magically changing while it lays in my toolbox?

To the OP;
I don't use a torque wrench on a oil change, or on very many other things either.
