I have to say the results here so far have amazed me. I never gave it any thought and my entire riding life, bicycle at 5 to FLHR today at many years later I have known anything but left/low side. Always seemed natural to leg over and bring the bike upright in the same motion. But the majority here so far are high side. Makes me think... Hell, I don't even know if I can make those mechanics work. It'd be like throwing with my left hand after doing it right handed my while life.
It never mattered to me, depended on the situation, but mostly the left side.......until old age, bad knees and the new Ultra with tour pac and riders back rest came along. Now it is the high side almost exclusively.
Ride Like A Pro course showed "patrolman" mount. Right hand on right handlebar, right foot on footpad, stand up and swing your left leg over. Bike did t even move. Me, 6' 3" so I can do it from the ground.
