Kuryakyn is selling Xsighting Lighting products now (expensive as hell). American Thunder had a clip that showed their brightness compared to a stock bike riding side by side. It looked like a big difference. Other than cost, how would the Kuryakyn bulbs compare to the PIAA bulbs?

Here's a link and a writeup from their website...

http://www.kuryakyn.com/chart.asp?sku=2253

Kuryakyn has teamed with the folks at Xsighting Lighting (a division of Valeo Sylvania) to bring the unparalleled performance of High Intensity Discharge lighting to the motorcycle world. This extraordinary lighting technology was only available for performance cars and trucks, and is now available for you to significantly enhance your ability to see and be seen!

• PERFORMANCE
3 times more lumen output than a standard halogen H4 headlamp system.
Has both low and high beam functions.
Has a very intense, very wide beam pattern.

• REDUCED CURRENT DRAW
Operates at 35 watts or 2.73 amps,
Draw is reduced by 47% compared to standard halogen headlamps.

• STYLE
Unique to XSighting Lighting and Kuryakyn

ORIGINAL: dougbk

I put the Sylvania Silverstar in my 06 ultra and really like it. I havethe PIAA in my 89 FLHTC and I can see better with the06.
Timely post. I was putting the fairing mirrors on my Ultra and messed up my headlight - bent a prong.
Of Course the Harley shops around here are closed on Sundays. I picked up a Sylvania Silverstar.
I will see how it does on the next night ride. I really liked the light I got out of the stock 06 Ultra.

Great post, I've been wanting to pick up a spare bulb to keep with me on the road...

So if I understand correctly, an H4 (does it matter the brand? I know I've got a Honda H4 in the garage in fact but didn't know it would fit my E-G) is standard in the H-D's? Is the Sylvania SilverStar 9003 an UPGRADE/IMPROVEMENT over the standard H4 and is it safe to use with the bike's existing wiring set-up?

Thanks!
