For those that smoke while riding a touring bike with lowers. Do you get a horizontal vortex between you and the windshield ? Ashes will drop then come back up into my face or slam into the back of the windshield. I'm getting it with my new 14 Limited and I'm not sure if the lowers are causing it.

 

I've smoked for years on several batwing bikes with lowers, I don't know where the ashes go, but I never see them. I would assume up and out of my airspace. Windshield height is key to air movement behind the batwing. Too short and your glasses jump around, too tall and your zz top beard will obscure your view of the road.

 

Quit smoking

 

In the meantime you have an air vent in your batwing now, unlike all previous years, which may be responsible. Have you tried opening and/or closing it? Also we now have a 'Rushmore' forum, where you may find other smokers.

 

That's what I did, but I'm not the guy who will tell you that you should quit. I loved my cigarettes for many years. I'd love to have one right now, but in the interest of my health, I'm not giving in.

 

I'm asking here to see if this was present before the design change.

Have a 10" windshield on my '09 and haven't noticed what you do........My first fairing bike though.

 

I'd say no, it wasn't. So good luck with that.
