Default Street Glide - 06 vs. 07

I've owned several HD's in the past, just sold BMW and wanting another HD. I have a line on an 06 SG with very low mileage but keep thinking about the 07 w/96CI and 6 speed....should I just forget it and make the deal on the 06 with the 88Ci and 5 speed??????

Thanks for your input.

I personally like my 6-speed, but do what you think is best. Weigh the cost differences and decide.

Ooopss....did I forget to mention my teeny weeny 96in stroker that I like as well.[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

I really don't think you can get an 06, do the upgrades (unless you do them yourself) that a 07 has... 96/6speed
and come out ahead... Unless your getting a super deal on the 06..

There is just something about a NEW bike with 4 miles on it...

But do what is best for you, either way.... Your Riding... and that's what it's all about!!

I went thru the same thing with my new RG. I bought a new 06 still on the dealers floor and saved just about $4k. I can do the engine mod easily enough but as others have said, by the time I'd add a 6 speed I'd be at or over the cost of the 07. However, 95% of my riding here won't allow for the use of a 6th gear since my riding is pretty much all at 60 MPH and under for the most part. I rarely venture out onto the highway to get to where I need to go, it would actually be out of my way. I just couldn't see spending the extra cash. The 06 worked for me.

I agree you should consider if a 6 speed is for you . I do at least 50 percent of my rideing at 70 to 80 mph

you need to consider if the 2006 has all the upgrades you want?
if you are making a deal with a dealer on the new, see what they will throw in or discount parts on the sale.
i almost purchased a used 2006 SG and then figured the changes i wanted to make. then i went to the dealer to get the same thing as i was looking at in used only upgraded to what i wanted in new the new one was only 2K higher.
i will pick the new 2007 SG up today at 2:00
