So after months and months of contemplating (all winter long pretty much) between what to do with an Ultra or even a CVO Ultra, neither were in line with what I wanted out of a really nice touring bike with super flexibility. I really like the denim black first and neither the Ultra's or CVO line had that for me. So I started where I did with a Street Glide. I have another bike that is already all chromed out and that wasn't the route I wanted for this bike. I can go from a weekly cruiser to a full out long touring bike in under 5min and back the other way in the same time.
Exactly this.
Same for me. I traded my Ultra on the SGS for the same reasons. We've put a few long trips on the SGS and it's every bit the touring bike the Ultra is. And when we're not on long trips, it's stripped down for local work. Love it.
As you can see, there are some similarities. The Banana Boards are great. I too, thought they would be wider. But I moved them out and forward with the Kuryaken relocators and they're perfect now. I also installed Tallboys lowering brackets front and Baron lowering brackets back with miniboards. The end result is perfect for us.
Not sure if I missed it, but how did you black out the latches on the tour pak?
You can order them that way. Of course only after you have the tourpack with the chrome latch and hinges. You can't specify black on the tourpack. More $$ for the Moco

You can get Gloss Black latch/hinges from the MoCo...his look like they're Denim.
Looks better Jc but is it easier to look under your arms?
I would hope it would not be a safety factor.
That is always the issue with running bars over the fairing.
