How to modify a 2000 ultra seat to fit a 94
Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.
Anyways! My wife picked me up a pretty nice seat at a garage sale today for $15. The only problem is that it is off of a 2000. Any ideas on how to modify it to fit a 94?
My first instinct is to just cut the tab shorter to fit, but is it really safe then without the tank hooking under a bar on the seat?
Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not gonna be any help here...sorry
but I do know that the 2 frames are night and day different...
What I may suggest is taking several pictures of before and during and after and build a pictorial for future reference for those that may be interested in doing it later...
thoughts along the line of questioning would be if you can get 2 solid attachment points one in the rear and one at the tank you should be golden...
or
if you can get one attachment in the rear and one on each side to attach to the frame and omit the one at the tank then you should be golden
this is just a guess from a designing view though

Seat mod
I am doing a seat mod on a late model seat to fit my 96 ultra. I am forming a raised cross piece to slide under the tank mount. I cut the seat tub about 3/4 in. Starting from O to 3/4 and back to 0 starting about 4 in. back and about 8 long. That let the seat cross bar I made go under the tank mount. I pulled the vinal cover tight and. re stapeled. I am going to JB weld 2 bolt nuts to the tub where the seat mounts to the fender. The front of seat now sits farther forward and lower. You must trim the tub in front to keep the seat from sitting on the tank. This must sound like a bunch of goobel Dr goop but I will take pick when done.

So I now have the seat on... Kind of...
I cut the tab down in the front so that it would fit under the gas tank tab and then proceeded to bend it down so the seat didn't stick up.
It is a little tight of a fit with how the back of the "drivers" seat section goes in front of the back rest bracket. The front of the seat pops up just slightly and touches the cb radio dash section. I think I may have to trim down the black plastic on the back of the seat where it is rubbing in order for it to sit completely flush.
Overall, I think it looks pretty good the way it sits. I will try and post pictures later.
