Exclamation Opinions on iPod/mp3

Now that I have a bike with a stereo I want to hook up my own music as changing disks suck. Confused on the different generations of iPod and can find them reasonably priced on eBay. Being as that I have the music stored on iTunes for my iPhone thinking the iPod would be a better option. I could convert to MP3 but wanting thoughts.

I use a Nano, velcroed to it the switch panel. It can play all day. Didn't want anything larger that will distract. Nano is small enough it just blends in with panel. Also found a short cable to connect to aux. port.

Handlebar control mount? do tell. One of the things I hate about using my ipod or iphone for music is the inability to skip songs with gloves on.

I'm using the Iron Cross ipod interface. It mounts in the fairing and my iphone goes in my windshield pouch and you can change songs using the factory controls. I love mine.

there are all kinds of options, I passed on the HD system as i had to take my eyes off the road too much to operate it, the button back and forth was fiddly.

I mostly listen to either playlists I already made up in itunes, or podcasts which may be an hour or 2 long.

and I do this on my phone..why carry 2 things and sync 2 things...1 will do.

I use an isimple adapter to charge my phone and use the aux in

another easy option is cable from the iphone to the aux in, some have an inline switch that can be used for pause/play, skip and rew. these are handy at toll booths to pause your program. mine is from griffin

Yup! i just select a genre and use one of my ear buds with the built in switch (ear buds came with phone) and i can pause, skip etc. Cant adjust volume but i just set it right before taking off. Oh, ipod is safe in my jacket pocket/vest pocket.

not following here. i have the hd ipod controller. i never have to take my eyes off the road to operate. i can change tracks, raise/lower volume, etc. all with my thumb controls.

the hdpdp plus version is about equivalent if you want.

IPhone or iPod via aux. simple. Works fine and you cane select genre or a playlist and just let 'er be. I keep my phone in my jacket pocket and all is well. No need to convert .aac songs to mp3 that way either.

How large is your music collection? That can help you decide which iPod model you might need.
