well, i can't say how much better they are than the 412s, but i did replace the air shocks with 11-1/2inch 440s. still a nice ride, yes, it does bottom occasionally, but that little drop sure helps me with my footing! damn short legs, lol.
the good part is that i got mine used for 125.

Hmm short legged myself. I have the RK Custom with the 12" stock air shock. I lowered the front 1" and had my seat shaved down 2". Both helped a ton while riding and at stop but I still have a some what difficult time of pushing the bike backwards while still on it. Not sure if I want to spend 500 for the 440 11 1/2 shocks, but am considering it.

When I replaced my stock shocks, called progressive and asked their opinion on 11 1/2 440's and their tech did not
recommend the 440's in that size. They recommended the 412's so I went with their recommendation. Happy with the
choice.

you know thats one thing I hadn't thought about, I will give progressive a call. right now I have one of the burley 1/2" lowering kits on the rear and if I run 0 pressure while riding 1 up I can flat foot it so I might be able to get away with the 12" shocks that would be 1/2" lower than I am now.
