Default any one replace progressive 412's with 440's on a RK

OK guy's I am trying to decide if progressive 440's are worth the money difference between them and 412's. Thanks.

well, i can't say how much better they are than the 412s, but i did replace the air shocks with 11-1/2inch 440s. still a nice ride, yes, it does bottom occasionally, but that little drop sure helps me with my footing! damn short legs, lol.

the good part is that i got mine used for 125.

I replaced the stock air shocks with 12 inch HD 412s and they are alot better than the stockers. The 412s are a very good shock.

mine were the standard, not the hd. i have the preload set at the 2d ring. but then i don't ride 2 up, and i weigh about 175. i'm very happy with the ride, even if there is 1/2 less travel. i like being able to reach the ground. the corbin solo seat may sit lower, but it is a tad wider in the front so ground reach is about the same as with the stock seat. the shocks helped tremondously.

you and I weigh about the same but I ride 2 up a good deal my indy is telling me I can get away with 11.5 440's if I go hd's which I would like because I am short in the inseem but I'm not sure.

Hmm short legged myself. I have the RK Custom with the 12" stock air shock. I lowered the front 1" and had my seat shaved down 2". Both helped a ton while riding and at stop but I still have a some what difficult time of pushing the bike backwards while still on it. Not sure if I want to spend 500 for the 440 11 1/2 shocks, but am considering it.

When I replaced my stock shocks, called progressive and asked their opinion on 11 1/2 440's and their tech did not
recommend the 440's in that size. They recommended the 412's so I went with their recommendation. Happy with the
choice.

you know thats one thing I hadn't thought about, I will give progressive a call. right now I have one of the burley 1/2" lowering kits on the rear and if I run 0 pressure while riding 1 up I can flat foot it so I might be able to get away with the 12" shocks that would be 1/2" lower than I am now.
